Dig Deeper

When rotomolded, PVDF, a fluorinated thermoplastic copolymer, delivers excellent chemical resistance.  It is suitable for tanks, linings, and piping systems exposed to aggressive chemicals. Its maximum use temperature reaches up to 300F, ensuring thermal stability in high-temperature applications. The material also maintains low permeability and high purity, which is critical for applications in the pharmaceutical, and food processing industries.

Mechanically, rotomolded PVDF offers impressive toughness and flexibility. It has a Shore D hardness of 70–75, tensile strength ranging from 31.0 to 41.4 MPa, and elongation at break between 30% and 200%, depending on processing conditions. These properties contribute to its durability and resistance to cracking or stress under load. Additionally, its electrical insulation capabilities—with a volume resistivity of 2.0 × 10¹⁴ ohms·cm—make it suitable for electrochemical and electronic applications.

Shipping note:

PVDF (Kynar) Storage Tanks are designed for applications requiring exceptional chemical resistance, purity, and high-temperature performance. Made using high-purity Kynar®—a trusted brand of Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) produced by Arkema—these tanks are ideal for corrosive and ultra-pure environments. Kynar is known for its excellent moldability in rotational molding processes and can withstand continuous use temperatures approaching 300°F (148°C) for some applications, making it suitable for demanding industrial applications. Arkema provides detailed data on Kynar’s chemical resistance and thermal capabilities, ensuring confidence in material performance across a wide range of storage conditions.

These vertical tanks are available in single- or double-wall configurations. PVDF tanks can also be modified with welded fittings using thermoplastic welding techniques, eliminating the need for threaded connections in purity-sensitive environments. In addition to molded tanks, custom-fabricated PVDF tanks are available, built from sheet material and joined using advanced welding methods. Whether you need standard or customized solutions, our team can help configure the ideal Kynar tank for your specific storage needs.
